Thank you very much in advance for the feedback, which is very helpful to me for the time being. I will then try to get in touch with the plasterer tomorrow and discuss this with him!

Alternative handrail: What kind of LED strip and how should the cable routing be?

I can’t help with the LED strip, my electrician took care of that. You just have to think about the placement of the transformer. Be careful, depending on the strip and power, I don’t think a small junction box transformer is sufficient.

Cable routing: with the wooden handrail, you make a groove for the strip. Then search on the big search engine for handrail bracket LED. For me, the first result had a picture. A shop with stainless steel in the name. That’s what I have. I drilled a hole from the groove (I have the groove towards the wall, not downwards) downwards. At that point, a handrail bracket with cable routing. Of course, that means you have to plan because the supply line from the wall has to come out exactly there.

Hey,

thanks for the feedback. Yes, we have now decided on an LED strip with a transformer. A socket under the stairs is now available and the transformer position is thus defined.
We already ordered the handrail last year with a groove when buying the stairs, and the electrician installed a switch in the wall for the stair ascent and descent respectively.
However, we only found time for detailed planning now. The shell construction is technically ready. Before the screed comes and we do the painting work, everything should now be prepared.

Since we have two handrails (landing stairs), we have already found an extension and a split connection to lay the cable from the transformer to the LED strip sufficiently and to use it for both handrails.

But we are wondering how best to lay the cable in the wall so that
1. it can be exchanged again without opening the entire wall and 2. how to lead the cable from the handrail into the wall without it being visible.
Are there handrail brackets available for purchase where the "screw and cable" can be fed through? Otherwise, we would ask our stair builder about this after the weekend.
The ones we saw on site were only sleeves for the mounting screw and we don't want to just visibly "stick" the cable there and lead it into a visible, even if small, hole in the wall.

Andre77 kindly already replied to me about how he implemented it, but his LED strip ends in the wall with the connection under the stairs and you don't have to hide the connection.

So the part "hiding the end of the LED strip to the transformer" still requires a solution ...

I think it's too late and I've had one beer too many to follow the problem :p

Did you search for „Handlaufträger Edelmetall“? That's where the cable runs from the handrail into the wall. The bracket is a pipe or tube.

And why would you want to replace the cable? For what purpose?

Yes, I have, I will talk to the stair company because we are getting a handrail that has a different mounting. However, I am looking exactly for such a mounting including cable routing. Nevertheless, the cable must go into the wall where the handrail is attached in order to come out again under the stairs where the transformer is located. And preferably with the possibility to replace it without tearing up the wall. We are now thinking of building a cable duct into the wall whose opening will then be hidden by the bracket!?

Because the cable that comes with the LED strips at the end is too short up to the plug.
