So now back to topic... enough of the sweets and snacks

Maybe a few explanatory words to understand the idea behind it. The idea of having the sofa like this is actually well thought out. We sit more at the dining table than in the sofa corner. When we have visitors, we almost always sit at the table. In the evening, when it’s dark and there’s nothing to see outside anyway, we retreat to the corner to watch TV. However, the sofa will be replaced in the near future anyway, then the short side will also be against the wall (furniture usually arrives before the house and is also easier to replace). The passage is about 1 m, which should be sufficient without problems. Regarding the entertainment center: we got rid of it almost 10 years ago. There is a "slim" lowboard and the TV hangs on the wall above it. Whether and what kind of sound/surround system will be used is not yet clear for the living room. And the plan is for a 55" TV there, and it won’t be any bigger (the projector will go in the basement if it should be bigger). And about the chips and everything René mentioned: we have this 120x240 cm kitchen island, there is plenty of space for all that.

Well, everyone has their preferences. But generally, we had a Feng Shui consultation before building. A couch in the room is usually discouraged because you want/should be "protected" in the back... Ok, this is more historically based, but I do feel much more comfortable when I am sitting somewhere and there is a wall behind me.

In our apartment, our couch also stands in the middle of the room, and we feel completely comfortable with it. The advantage is that the child has their place behind it, and if we do sit there, you can see and "supervise" them. And as I said, most of the time we watch TV in the evening, so the blinds are down anyway.

A quick note: the window there is a strip window (as seen in the views, so we are not blocking ourselves in for the future).

That's why I said it is rather historically (very far back) based. However, especially when the child behind it is playing, screaming whatever, that would make me more nervous than if you can observe it from across and have it in front of you...

We used to have the sofa in the room as well, kind of as a "spatial" separation. Sitting with your back to a door or into the room didn't really bother much, but since it's against the wall, I just find it more comfortable and open (we have living and dining together). You can also simply make the dining table so long that it extends into the L of the sofa (coffee table is set aside). But actually, you can still place the sofa differently when you move in and realize it doesn't suit you. The idea with the light strip is therefore a great idea, some people plan their sofa in front of a floor-to-ceiling window, what nonsense (in my opinion).

That's why the idea!
We are also going for fixed glazing (why open it there), and just want the option for some natural light in that corner.

I am already considering whether we should even lay the preparation for SAT and LAN there.
