I think the plan for the wishes is quite good. With the house size, it will be difficult with an alternative. If the living room has to stay on the garden side, it will be even harder. Where exactly does the OP want to "get more out of it" and why?

Yes, that's how I see it too, and I completely forgot to write it down. Upon closer inspection, the architect has already done a good amount of work with the requirements and challenges. You can be satisfied. I might possibly make the staircase a turning one at the pivot, probably not more. Everything fits well. And the orientation is also acceptable.

If any changes are made, just mirror it and separate the carport and storage, as mentioned. But definitely remove the door from the freezer room: you urgently need the space entirely and not as a passage.

So - after my little one is asleep, I tried to detail my ideas a bit. Still completely without windows - and I have to admit I increased the size of the house around the "entrance bay". (How does it look for you, can the house be deeper, but a bit narrower instead?) The utility room looks smaller than it is because the space under the half-landing stairs can be used here. But it was too much effort for me to calculate the square meters of that quickly.

The shower/toilet on the ground floor and the study still don’t please me. More depth in the house would be good there. By the way, the hallway is 1.80m wide, so there’s enough space for sufficient wardrobe. And it could then become narrower in the dining area... (I’m already getting another idea about that)

Do you mean the original plan from our architect? By "getting more out of it" I meant gaining supposedly wasted space (e.g. due to the shape of the stairs). Yes, the door will be removed in favor of gaining space. Where would you place this winding staircase and how would it lead into the upper floor? Then we can put that directly on the table for our architect. I really think it’s great that you are so committed. We think it’s great that this type of staircase really saves a lot of space on the upper floor. The house can certainly be deeper, but we would like to keep the main orientation of the rooms facing the garden to the north.
