I believe this "Ankleidezimmer" is simply trendy at the moment.
As long as both have a "normal" job, it is rather unnecessary. And even if you get up at different times, you can take your clothes out the night before.
However, it is currently the case that you find such a dressing room in almost every model house, even though 3-3.5 meters of wardrobe in the bedroom would also do.

But really, everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want to use the square meters for a walkthrough room.

I want a dressing room *plääääärrrr*

Because while I do manage to get my stuff ready the evening before, unfortunately my better (??) half never does...
So he tries to rummage quietly in the closet, with a 120% chance of knocking something over somewhere, mutters suppressed curses, turns on the flashlight on his phone and definitely points it in the wrong direction (namely at me)... and at some point I, with the same 120% certainty, am also awake *hm*

I won’t do it without a dressing room!

But it’s true, something like that only makes sense if it’s properly planned.

Morning Alex,

Thanks for your post. Unfortunately, I can only reply on my phone, so sorry if this is a bit brief.

First of all, I have to say that this thread was not about creating rooms and detailed sqm planning. Different versions of the floor plan were only to be fitted into the building window so that we don’t go into pre-planning empty-handed but bring possible ideas along.

Regarding the angular layout, as you said, it’s certainly a matter of taste and probably not final. As mentioned above, we are still at the milestone of searching for the perfect floor plan.

As you can now conclude from this, the sqm simply resulted from the intended floor plan or the location of house and garage and this also affected the upper floor.

We are happy to be open to many more ideas since, as I said, we are still at the very beginning, including regarding room sizes and so on and so forth.

Thanks and regards, Andi

Hi Robson,

Thanks for your contribution here as well. Regarding the hallway, as mentioned in the other comment, it was mainly about location and floor plans within the building envelope, which has now shifted further. But I’m happy to take the info regarding the hallway on board.

About the other points.

The pantry is modeled after the current one in the parental house and is completely sufficient for these purposes depending on the concept, as long as it has the dimensions with masonry, etc. I read somewhere about a freezer there, but it’s actually not supposed to go in there.

Regarding the doors, thanks for the tip, I learned something new already. Great.

On the ground floor next to the guest bathroom is the dressing room, and upstairs it’s supposed to weakly represent the entrance area.

I’ll get informed about that program.

Thanks, regards Andi

@all, I definitely see the dressing room as useful for different working hours to not disturb the partner, as has already been mentioned. Of course, also to be laid out as best as possible in m2.

Let's say wardrobe room instead of dressing room, I also find that very nice. It also declutters the bedroom and you don't have tall wardrobes standing there.

Then a wardrobe room should be designed in such a way that it has enough space to accommodate everything a couple has in terms of clothes, winter/summer items, sports gear, and so on. In your last plan, with a lot of luck, you can place 300 to 350 cm of wardrobe. I don't find that generous for 2 people.

My husband and I also get up at different times, so I always have to lay out my things the evening before, but that annoys me, the things lie on the bathroom floor (no storage space) and the cats make themselves comfortable there (haaaaaairs). Also, if the weather in the morning turns out to be completely different than forecasted the evening before, I have to disturb my husband again, also if I forgot something. And as ktb09 also says: there are no tall cabinets there. We also want to use the closet room for winter clothes, other shoes, bed linen, etc., I never want to have that in the bedroom again. Bed, nightstands, and TV. Period.
