Hello Google80,
I can understand your wish for confirmation very well. Ultimately, you have to be satisfied with your floor plan, not the forum; however, it is quite difficult to find positives when you go through your floor plan in terms of its functionality.
One could say, for example:
- great walk-in closet, probably at least 6 meters of wardrobe space possible
- great that you have such a short way from the garage to the kitchen
- the toilet on the upper floor is very well solved if you definitely don’t want it to be visible when entering the bathroom
- the bedroom is so large that you might even be able to accommodate a care bed in old age
- the office is nicely rectangular and easy to furnish
- the hallways don’t feel cramped
- the couch area is nice and cozy
At the same time, however, there are disadvantages tied to it that many here wouldn’t want to go into:
- a huge bedroom AND a large walk-in closet, which together are almost as big as both children's rooms — many would prioritize the children’s rooms instead
- due to the many doors in the utility room, it is hard to furnish; if you don’t belong to the dryer faction, in my opinion, you can’t sensibly set up a drying rack on the ground floor
- the bathroom on the upper floor is quite convoluted, and the way to the toilet is too far for many; it’s also not barrier-free (as is the kitchen with only about 1 m distance between the lines)
- many don’t assign so much space to the bedroom because, in addition to the walk-in closet, you simply don’t need it (again a question of prioritization) and it could also become somewhat cozy in such a large room where there’s nothing but the bed
- the drying rack could fit well in the upper floor hallway, but it is then a pity if you plan a laundry chute, wash downstairs, and then carry it wet back up a floor; others would say the hallway is too large
- the distance between the couch and the TV could be a bit too small
And these are just a few points. The access situation of bathroom/children’s rooms/walk-in closet has been mentioned several times already; kitchen planning as well. Also the granny flat (of course, you don’t want to be looked at from the terrace, but an apartment without storage room, west-facing windows, etc. is not everyone’s dream).
Therefore, I would also like to strongly suggest that you critically question the entire starting point and your priorities and maybe seriously consider turning everything upside down one more time. If you have done that honestly and still find everything good – okay.
