Don’t feel attacked. I’m not saying "what you say isn’t true"... I’m saying "I can’t imagine it."

No, I don’t believe that either, because that’s something different again. The kids who had everything handed to them by their parents were the typical social losers at our school who only wanted to define themselves through that.

My best friend has very rich parents – but they raised the kids to be very grounded, there was nothing extra (for cable TV he always came to our place ). You could see very clearly from that that rich parents != spoiled brats.

For what reason am I allowed to deny my child the 500 Euro phone if my wife and I buy one for ourselves? If everything is supposed to be equal, that means everything goes into one pot and everyone gets from that pot what they need, and the rest is fairly divided. Sure, I can also buy the 500 Euro phone for myself and only one for 50 Euro for my wife and my son. Or if I only have 600 Euro, one each for 200. Am I worth more than my child? Does the child only get fries and I get the steak? Regards

Oh yes, my son is learning to handle money because he has some, not because he is given nothing.

Exactly, and because everyone is equal, everyone has to bring in coal as well.

Stupid when you contradict yourself. And now forcibly constructing things here that were not even mentioned – you are accusing me, among other things, of living feudal and making my child go hungry.

THAT is disrespectful!

My children would do that too – they have something from us and earn their own – in my opinion, there is nothing better, because spending self-earned money is much cooler than the breathed-in kind. And that way they notice the difference – in that sense, my children would then have more than yours.

@albert: Well... you and your wife work at least 8 hours a day and earn the 500 euros, while your child is still enjoying life at school or kindergarten!!! I hope your children understand that!

: We also rarely spend 500 euros on groceries, mostly around 400 euros and that works perfectly. Although we all also eat out during the week. The kids at daycare, my husband at the cafeteria and I take something from dinner with me. We still all eat warm meals in the evening, I cook every other day and we buy almost exclusively organic. So, I don’t know what you all eat and where you shop, but it’s possible!!! We also don’t have cupboards stuffed with things we never finish.
