Exactly..I also don’t find the Quinny very expensive..I also think over 8k is not luxury. Of course, it is a lot of money. But just the crib and dresser/changing table must have been over 2000 EUR (MiniMeise). These are very high-quality pieces of furniture. We hardly received anything as gifts and bought a lot of Fairtrade or organic. A romper already costs 30 EUR. Or Emile et Rose dresses..they just cost a bit more.

There are strollers costing a few thousand euros. Gilded and with GPS receiver. That falls into the luxury category for me. Whoever likes that.. sure.. why not?

The newest smartphone every 2 years for 1k EURO... that also falls under luxury for me. But good clothes for your child??!!!! well.. to each their own..

There are also really good rompers at Family where the double package doesn't cost 15€.

Sorry, but some people can't earn money that fast...

That's a good thing. And at H&M there is the 3-pack for 10 EUR. Everything has its justification.

We would never in a million years consider buying something that needs to be replaced constantly (because it's too small or just pissed on again) for that much money. And we also don't have a gold-plated stroller (which was only used for a little over a year anyway - we’re not making that mistake again) or phones for 1000 euros (I myself have a Chinese phone).

This is not a criticism that one shouldn't do it, but just to say that you are in the absolute minority with this and it is by no means "normal," as you seem to suggest in my opinion.

My wife sews many clothes for our son herself - that is luxury for us, because usually people ask where you got such a thing from.
