Very interesting to read the whole thing... We have already been meticulously keeping a household budget before the children... And what can I say. Now with two boys (1.5 and 3 years old) we do not spend a single cent more than before on household expenses. This includes groceries, leisure, gifts, clothes, and so on. I am sure it will increase, but so far we are not spending more.

Already extreme what you read here ? 8300 for the initial equipment wow. 350 euros a month for food, that fills you up and it is varied ? Wow. And someone sends their children to work just because he had to work himself, why did you even have children ? None of this is normal. Regards

I don't find it that absurd... everyone has their sociocultural and socioeconomic background and behaves accordingly. This also applies to posts here in the forum

I think the diversity that is revealed here is great. In this way, everyone who wants to can reflect on their point of view again and maybe learn something.

And how do you handle childcare, clothes, vacations, etc.?

Is there then restraint practiced in other areas?

I wonder about that too, we must be doing something wrong. You can probably get some clothes second-hand, but you still need a few clothes and especially shoes regularly. The kids also need food. The only thing I can imagine is that if you used to go out a lot and do many activities and now have to restrict yourself a bit with small children, then you can certainly save a lot, which balances out the extra expenses for clothes and food.
