There is really a huge divide in society - not just when it comes to clothes or something like that. On one side, we have parents who send their children to music school, swimming club, English group, dance, and horse riding, and on the other side, those who park their children in front of the TV. I don’t remember it being that extreme for me - maybe I’m wrong... The fear is that in the end, the children will fall behind and lose connection if they are not carried on an expensive cushion... I do think about it sometimes but am rather skeptical.

Our daughter, in 11th grade, has classes three times a week until 5:00 PM. Twice until 3:00 PM. Homework, studying for the [Abi] (from 11th grade, second semester counts). In addition, group leadership [Rotes Kreuz] and readiness duty. No chance to work a job on the side. Everyday life for many students today.

They existed before, too, only today you see it with different eyes.

By the way, I had night shifts at the gas station during [dee Abizeit] and before that from 6 to 11 p.m. and before that at the supermarket.

There is still time to make money

I only ever worked long enough to have enough money for a new PC. Internet was free at home. During my studies, I actually always worked as a [SHK] and finally at a consultancy.
