Our bank assumes living expenses for 2 adults and 1 child (= 3 persons) => approx. 1,540 EUR. Then, of course, deductions for the car (each 200 EUR) and maintenance for the new house (approx. 2 EUR per sqm) are added. The bank thus arrives at expenses of just under 2,250 EUR per month for us.

And how much do your expenses come to?

In my opinion, the bank expenses are always set very low. If I add up our expenses for 3 people, I would roughly come to that amount, but that does not include any vacation, any reserves for replacing a vehicle, or any reserves for the house. And in my opinion, we are already very economical there.

I'm also curious here... slowly financial normality is returning (incl. first repayment installment etc.) - let's see if we miscalculated or if everything fits as assumed

Our bank estimated a little more than 2000 euros for two people with two cars. Overall, it actually matched quite well. However, this calculation was not really relevant for us because we have a very detailed cost breakdown. It was also not a problem for the approval.

I must admit I haven't made a detailed expense list myself yet, but I also think that the flat rates from the bank are quite accurate. Our son is only 5 months old and the expenses will increase over time.

We bought a lot of things additionally in the first year. Plants, garden hose, lawn mower, shelves, flower boxes, garden tools, bed dividers, sandbox, children's slide + swing, etc. Financial normality looked different. It is slowly arriving now in the 2nd year.
