We bought furniture for the bathroom from Massivum. It's really funny. I don't know where they get it from, but the assembly is hilarious.

You get the furniture already assembled. We took all the drawers out for carrying them up the stairs – after all, everything is solid wood. Upstairs we wanted to put the thing back together – but it didn't work. One drawer wouldn't fit. I looked – the rail was chipped – great. My husband says – he can glue it. After consulting the store – we got a refund for the DIY repair – all good. Now the thing was repaired – but the drawer still wouldn’t go in.

Astonishment. My husband looks for the cause and sees that a brace at the back is in the way. That can never fit – unless the drawer was narrower than usual at that point. It dawns on him. He takes out all the drawers and indeed! One drawer is made so that it fits at that spot – all the others don’t.

You can’t see anything from the outside and the function is not impaired. But still, as a German you wouldn’t come up with something like that, but rather spend hours fighting the cause until it’s perfect. Had to smile – simply and effectively solved the error – more time for the important things. Who could that have been?

We don't have any furniture from Ikea, but I like to walk through it and come out with napkins and candles. My mother recently bought a kitchen there and had it installed.... and I have to say, I am totally impressed with this Ikea kitchen! We have an expensive Nolte with matte lacquer fronts, no foil, but you can already see significant signs of wear after the first year, and that makes me rather gloomy. I also find the pull-outs from Ikea really solid. In general, I believe Ikea also offers decent quality. I personally prefer modern solid wood furniture from the carpenter I trust. But I like to go there for inspiration... Just not on Saturdays!!!!
