I like shopping at Ikea. For many reasons.
For one, I like the prices – everything there is inexpensive. Worth its price. A cheap dresser is simply not as smooth-running and durable as one that costs three times as much there. Although the Billys are unbeatable, in my opinion. I also like the clear pricing; no way would I be drawn into other furniture stores with their anniversary and other discounts. Especially when it comes to kitchens, I find it very pleasant that the prices are transparent. I can decide for myself whether it’s worth the 200 euros to me if I prefer to equip a cabinet with several drawers instead of a door and shelves. I can also see immediately how the price changes with other fronts or handles – at the kitchen studio, that’s always a show like no other. I also find the expandability great.
We have quite a bit from Ikea. The box spring bed, the kitchenette, the new kitchen that will be assembled soon is already in the basement and is from Ikea. Two Billy bookcases with doors stand in my office corner, just like an open shelf and a Malm dresser. Also for the two newly created office rooms in the house, the Galant desks and shelves are already in the basement. In the coming weeks, a few Metod cabinets will be added to the laundry room; and in winter the small bathroom will be equipped with Godmorgon cabinets plus a washbasin. Even when the dressing room is eventually finished, Pax will of course go in there.
I also like to use the furniture as a base. So in my office corner, an open shelf and a Malm together with a white lacquered Pax back panel have turned into a wonderful room divider to the kitchenette. A bit of tinkering is just much more fun anyway!
In the kitchen, there are already Ikea 365 pans, cutlery, glass measuring cups, and serving plates/dishes as well as stainless steel bowls. Bedding also comes from there – with the great option to just buy a new pillowcase now and then.
