My opinion: Too many and above all much too small rooms. About 1/3 of the house is studio and open space - can't that be reduced somewhat in favor of the rooms?

I did not write that the house should be bigger, but rather that chambers should be planned as rooms instead. The kitchen is almost 18 sqm, but for a table that you want to walk around, the room will be too small. 3 x 6 meters is not a charming room dimension either.

I think I won’t write much more, since you have already fallen too much in love with your planning to evaluate it neutrally. By the way, I also described this phenomenon in my pinned post. A guest WC with a window and a harmonious position of the chimney are possible in a bungalow and should open the creator’s eyes that there will be hundreds of better designs if one does not get stuck.

Also: if planning for old age, possibly consider avoiding unnecessary corners... I’d rather not mention barrier-free accessibility, since even I didn’t want to plan our house accordingly, although a certain age has been reached.

Regards, Yvonne

Personally, I think the ground floor has too many corners. Because of this, the bathroom access is really inconvenient. A guest toilet without a window can and should also be avoided in new construction. Or you should consider whether you really need a guest toilet in addition to the main bathroom. In the kitchen, you don’t really have much space, also because of the doors. So, not much space for kitchen furniture and storage for dishes, etc. Just consider whether the storage space is really enough for you. The two small rooms that you called storage rooms upstairs, I doubt that they are well usable since they are still under the 150 cm mark. Or are they not meant to be rooms at all? What you should really consider is whether you really don’t want an eaves overhang. As far as I know, this is difficult to seal and the eaves also serve as facade protection, which would be especially important to me in the case of a wooden house with a wooden facade (if I understood you correctly).

How do you come to the conclusion that I have fallen in love with my planning? Because I don’t just swallow everything you throw at me? Of course everything is feasible and surely a guest WC without a window is not ideal, and naturally I am also in favor of revising the whole thing, why not. Did I mention anything about a perfect design?

I only asked a few questions: for example what you meant by the sound transmission of the hallway and why the table is too small at that size for two or even four? Walking around was not mentioned and that is an argument that is certainly worth considering. Nevertheless, I believe it can be neglected because we will be in this kitchen 95 percent of the time as two persons.

I can reach every corner of the house’s ground floor with the wheelchair. I revised the entrance to the bathroom, the corner is gone. I don’t like the guest WC either, I just can’t think of anything better. Actually, it wouldn’t even be necessary because there is supposed to be another toilet in the upper floor.

The design is very individual, also in the sense of "unsellable." Hardly anyone else will want this layout, but that is the other side of the coin "fits for us." The house has charm, you will feel comfortable, and guests will gladly be there.

The guest WC is roughly botched, unfortunately that will hardly change without a complete redesign - unless you choose the minimal change "lighting through the bathroom." With the greenhouse, I fear that it will also have to adhere to the building boundary and then be closer to the apple tree. [P.S.: with bulletproof glass where the apples fall, hehe]

The house is likeable to me, it strongly reminds me of my house model from art class in seventh grade

We wanted to realize living on one level. The attic is actually just a bonus due to the development plan. The only option would be to build bigger; fewer rooms in the living area is not possible. Unless you build "modern" and do without the wall between kitchen and living room. But I cannot come to terms with that. I am also happy to explain what I think about it if anyone is interested.
