Well, in the end, these are of course all personal preferences - if you say that works for you, then it will be so! I'm just saying how it comes across to me. I actually don't see any space for ironing in your bedroom. The wall is 3.85m, your bed is probably at least 1.80m. That leaves about a meter of space on each side. For that, the iron would always have to be threaded in there (where is it actually going to be stored? In your walk-in closet?). It would be much more comfortable down there. You can also stack the washing machine and dryer together downstairs. But of course you are right, the utility room suffers because of that. So I would definitely remove one of the wardrobes and make a proper utility room there if the washing machine absolutely has to go upstairs. The children's bathroom may be sufficient, but for the daily use of two children... well, that's up to you. To me, this "emergency solution" wouldn't be worth the space and extra costs because I would fear that the bathroom would only be used in emergencies within a very short time. But yes, that's just a personal opinion as well.

I have just now recommended an app to you: the analog doodle-it-yourself app in the always up-to-date version 1.0

No, see I see justified hope on the horizon to start upstairs. Have I actually ended up in your spam folder again? – I emailed you before the May Day holiday.

oh wait yes I'll check that right away.

I am really unbelievably satisfied with the layout and flair of the ground floor ... in the upper floor I'm also super satisfied - the only (but really big) criticism is that the kids are in the (north)east and the bathroom/parents in the (south)west. The rest is great as it is.
I also have to upload the current upper floor version sometime, the last one was pretty convoluted.

So, dear ones, I’ve adjusted a few things.
made me think, and we talked about it again... The kids’ bathroom will definitely be canceled for now. However, pipes etc. should be prepared. But who knows if we will have a second child, and even if we do, the first one (at least 10 years) probably won’t need their own bathroom yet. That would really be a pity because 1) the space 2) it would have to be cleaned and 3) in 10 years it will already be outdated again, and we can make the kids happy and renovate it when it is really needed. The saving effect is of course given at first as well. And I have my dream laundry room where I can actually hang clothes and, in case of emergency, iron too.

Now to the question “Why are the kids in the east or partly northeast” - yes, that is now the question. This is the ONLY - really the absolute only thing that still “bothers” me about the floor plan.
The problems why the kids can’t be on the other side are:
1) We (the man) definitely want the balcony at the bedroom, oriented naturally towards the edge of the field in the southwest... The balcony should also be accessible from the bathroom so that the kids can use it later, but I’d rather not constantly go through their rooms to get to the balcony - that will annoy them as teenagers very much.
2) We absolutely don’t want the bedroom to border the kids’ rooms.
3) Even if we said one child would be next to us instead of the bathroom, the other would still be in the east. And besides, the kids will probably want to be as far away from us as possible eventually.
4) When we have guests in summer, we mostly sit outside, which means the kids would have these noises very close to them when sleeping, something to consider too.
5) It can get quite hot, especially in summer; depending on the season, you may even be happy about cooler rooms.

And currently, the kids’ room is in the northwest. It is really bright despite the window not being very big. If I imagine putting a dormer or something there, I think it would be really great. (Yes, I’m making it sound nicer... )

Well, as I said, the rest really fits OUR purposes perfectly, and nothing else bothers us about it. If the exterior view fits now - the windows are, as I said, not yet set upstairs - we would be more than happy.

Oh, and regarding the dressing room: possibly the opening could go through the dressing room, but if we think it through, I have to say that currently it really doesn’t bother us, and we would rather have more space than have to enter the room through a door there. But that wouldn’t be a big change if we decided otherwise.

I think he's pretty great now
You guys planned the kitchen all the way through and checked if it works like that, right?
Although you could also do that in detail later.
I personally don't find the children's rooms in the north problematic. My children's room was also in the north, never bothered me. Sure, ideally they would be in the south, but that wouldn't have been my top priority either.
