If a planning law opinion is desired, I will read through the thread from the beginning at some point.
It concerns a semi-detached house on a yet unknown specific plot from a selection of five adjacent ones. Therefore, it is uncertain whether the OP is building on an "even or odd" plot and thus has the neighboring house adjacent in the NE or SW (floor plan in post #1, site plan for dummies in #39). The garage may possibly take away a window opportunity from the kitchen. Therefore, it was suggested to place the garage on the other side of the plan - and Yvonne now thinks: if that would result in the semi-detached house’s adjoining side referring only to the garage (meaning that for these two semi-detached houses it would practically create a terraced house constellation), then that doesn’t matter because that is also permissible. This opinion causes me to frown.
