Is this a semi-detached house (Doppelhaushälfte)? Did I overlook that? Can you please provide the external dimensions of the entire boxes?

I really like the upper floor! Although I didn't look for the exact dimensions, just the idea of the parent-child layout. Laundry on the upper floor I think is great, I would like that too, since we put everything in the dryer anyway or hang it inside because of pollen allergy.

Phew, a balcony to dry clothes sounds like an expensive thing. I find a balcony in a house quite pointless, since in 99% of cases people use the terrace anyway. I'm also out on this topic because with us, due to pollen allergies, laundry is only hung indoors anyway.
Where do your "American" wishes come from? You often see the TV hanging above the fireplace there. I always wonder how the device tolerates the heat. Usually, that's why it hangs way too high to watch TV comfortably.
I would remove the shower on the ground floor. You have planned 2 upstairs, who would still use that one?

What does that mean? Should they move in when they are older? An office is needed, or would a desk corner somewhere perhaps also suffice?Overnight guests per year: currently rare - but when older, space for parents/parents-in-law is desired

This is our upper floor, quite plain—and some would say unimaginative. But: we got the most out of the house size (for our needs).

About 2.70m (though we could also go up to 3m there ) But it really depends on the space - especially since we really only sit there once a day for 15 minutes And even with guests, the area is used very rarely.
That is tight. A minimum of 80cm between the table edge and the wall is recommended. We have 3.10 m and that's already cozy when the table (about 1.15 m wide) is fully occupied. In the living room, I am missing storage space for children's toys, books, hobbies, DVDs. Upstairs, I would swap sleeping and children. Be sure to draw the existing or desired furniture in all rooms to scale.
