Floor plan of a single-family house with a gable roof, 1.5 stories - improvements?

And if you also draw in your sofa, you will get further insight into where it is lacking and where it is too generous. It’s best if you take a thick line as a wall, or a triple line, so about 15-20 cm... as a sketch, mind you.

Yes, a kitchen with the island doesn't work like that, either remove the wall between the living area and the kitchen, or do without the island, kitchen units on both walls (just like it always was with a separated kitchen; it doesn't work to transfer the design of a kitchen planned for an open space into a kitchen locked in a room. Or the kitchen room becomes significantly larger). Or plan the kitchen completely differently.

For a chair, you should always plan one meter... pushed in it takes up 30cm, when someone is sitting on it, about 70 cm. Behind it, as a host, you might want to be able to walk.

I can't quite imagine yet where the couch should go. With the back against the bathroom side and the TV on the upper exterior wall? I don't see a good placement option there.

I can only submit a drawing with the sofa later. Currently, the plan is that the TV will be mounted on the wall facing the bathroom. The sofa is supposed to be along the upper wall. Of course, there will be about 6 meters between them. It is similar at my parents-in-law’s place. We do not see that as a problem. Alternatively, we have also considered moving the sofa about 1.5 meters closer to the TV. Then a sideboard or something similar and an appropriate passageway could be placed along the upper wall.

The table can also be rotated 90 degrees and placed with its end directly against the kitchen wall. That is how we currently have it at our place as well. We also do not see that as a problem. The table should also be extendable. Thus, it can be adjusted from the standard 4-6 seats to 8 for visitors (an exceptional situation, then it will be a bit tight in the living room).

The kitchen solution is not perfect yet. We are still working on a solution. The wall might actually be shifted a little. The exact layout is also not fixed yet. Currently, the following approximate measurements apply for the kitchen. 3.7 meters in width. From that, the following are subtracted: 0.60 for the kitchen unit 1.20 as the distance between the unit and the kitchen island 1.00 meter for the island 0.90 for the counter with stools.
