Well, we are curious to see where the matter will develop.

Does the house have to be so square?
I would also, as was once suggested here, build something narrower and longer on the elongated plot:
On the west side, I would arrange the kitchen, dining area, and living room from south to north. Advantage: south-facing windows in the open kitchen, which illuminate the dining and living areas during the day. The other smaller rooms then accordingly in the east. Integrate the utility room and/or storage room into the ground floor of the building body, then the office upstairs. A larger building body is probably cheaper than an additional annex for these rooms. Entrance possibly on the side in the east, if it fits better in terms of the floor plan.
An advantage of a longer house would also be the wider west garden adjoining all the living rooms.

Does the garage have to be attached to the house with direct access? If that is not a must, more variations become possible again. It rains a few times a year, but unpleasant heavy rain is rather the exception here, and there are jackets with hoods for that.
I also always wanted a garage directly on the house, but despite a large plot, it now looks like I’m planning the garage further away from the house because of the orientation and topography.

Brief status update: After yesterday's discussion with the architect and a subsequent shell construction inspection, we are considering discarding our plans and possibly abandoning the house style to build a single-story house. The basis is a former order with the identical plot orientation. By and large, in my opinion, not much would need to be adjusted: - Integration of office - Reduce overall width and extend towards the back

Why?

But that would completely change the existing (quite convoluted) floor plan.
Or am I seeing that wrong?
Usually, you can't just make a floor plan narrower in one place and longer in another because otherwise the rooms won't function properly.

Edit: What kind of roof is supposed to go on that?

In this version, there is a shed roof on the parts on the left and right, a flat roof in the middle, and a flat roof on the garage.

It can look nice. Personally, I am not a fan of flat roofs on residential buildings unless it is indispensable for functional reasons. The risk that a "seam" somewhere becomes leaky and it drips into the house is always greater than with conventional pitched roofs. With the garage, that would be less of a problem.
