Yes, the forest is located to the south/southwest, maps can sometimes be quite complicated ;) The dining table is 2 x 1 meters wide, and I have 8 chairs for it. But in the standard case, only four to six chairs will probably be set up. The 2 m wide sofa is currently available and is supposed to move with us; we are already considering whether to place another sofa against the backrest so that you have a view of the forest. Alternatively, a narrow bench or two chairs with a table. We are still not completely satisfied with the solution. The office should definitely remain downstairs to ensure a separation between workspaces and bedrooms upstairs.

Regarding our arrow slits, we have redesigned the windows to 2 x 1 meters except for the windows on the ground floor facing the private street (front door side), which will be 1.5 x 1 m. We hope to receive the new drawings tomorrow.

Me too. I would always position the sofa so that I can look into the garden. I also drink my afternoon coffee on the sofa, not at the dining table. Watching the birds at the pond, wonderful.

Us too. The TV is right in front of the sofa, but large windows to the garden are on both the left and right. Even in the evening while watching TV, it's great to briefly glance at the (illuminated) pampas grass or watch the neighbor's cat sneaking past the window. Having a view of the forest would really be amazing!!

Sounds good always, but surely also has other disadvantages (sometimes). For example, we still have a TV and a bookshelf (with speakers, etc.), which I of course also like to look at. But you usually can’t fit everything on one wall, so sometimes it’s not so easy to manage that. Often you see some solutions where the TV is somehow placed crookedly on the wall or even slightly in front of the window, which is not always ideal. I always find that “terraced house” look quite nice, where you have a window on the side and two closed walls, one for the sofa, one for the TV, etc. Then you can look out diagonally.

I also don't find it optimal to hang the TV in front of or between the windows. The TV will go in the lower corner, surrounded by the surround speakers, and at the upper end in front of the 1-meter-wide window, we now plan to place two Eggchairs (replica) or maybe a small couch or reclining chairs. I think we will still have afternoon coffee at the dining table, as the view through the 4-meter sliding door is just too beautiful.

Yes, especially after these posts and the inquiries from some or Yes, in midsummer the sun sets in the NW... Somehow nothing seems optimal?! My tip: don’t draw in the 2-meter sofa, but rather think about the planned family when furnishing. A sofa opposite another sofa is probably the wrong approach for a neat single-family house. I already find the entrance situation with the northern entrance despite the southern driveway not optimal. I just struggled through to page 8 to finally get any measurements for the property, but it’s also possible I missed a post somewhere in between... My suggestion: Garage/carport at the southeastern corner of the property, entrance to the south, and plan the house on the ground floor with a bay window or L-shape. Whether you prefer the forest view from inside or rather the incoming sun in your house, you have to decide yourself. No one can give you advice on that. Forest or trees can also be disadvantageous and sometimes simply look ugly in the lower third, and a wall of trees can quickly feel oppressive if you don’t have balancing surfaces/windows. Basically, I would reshuffle the cards completely and then also move the children’s rooms into the light. “Terrace in the light” should be considered separately from “view into the forest.” The latter can also be enjoyed quite well and for a long time from the kitchen.
