Well, not necessarily better for the children's rooms... they would then be in the northwest, where hardly any sun reaches in winter.

Nope... the roof is about 350 cm high all around, while the walls only remain visible at 250 cm height.

Overall, I find that walkways take up a lot of space in the living/dining/kitchen area. Basically, with storage room, utility room separated from HAR, and vestibule, there is already a lot of storage space, which is rare but positive. That makes me wonder what is planned for the attic.

Good luck.

Aha. Already simmering for two. ;) Also here: You could also read, "The kitchen just turned out that way." That obviously has nothing to do with planning. I'll say it again. What a pity about the 60 sqm. Living corner half the size of the kitchen.

That would be very easy, just move the living room wall 30 cm towards the kitchen. It will just be a bit shorter, the table can stay.

In any case, relocate the attic access from the children's room to the hallway. It can be done quite cleverly visually.

If money plays a role, I would definitely take the time now and plan again/ differently in peace. You are throwing so much space out the window (or rather into the window, since the space is inside) that you could probably build smaller than the many sqm that are now being wasted. Cooking-eating-living excellently combines the disadvantages of the mixed styles here: visually protected from others in the kitchen at full volume of the others. Then better just an open concept where you can at least still work and communicate with the others. A new plan might not be more expensive than this plan despite the price increase.

If money does not play a role, then I would definitely take the time and plan again/differently.

Someone already mentioned it: why a bungalow and no 2 stories? Moving the children's room upstairs has various advantages (and also disadvantages). In a bungalow, in my opinion, it tends to be rather "uncomfortable" (to me, it always seems like a holiday apartment or an apartment like in a sitcom).

I believe, with concentration and help from the forum, planning could still go quickly if you and your partner are quick decision-makers.
