So, if you were in our place, would you rather decide against building a house?
No. But before breaking ground, a properly calculated plan for (in my opinion) the finished property is necessary and not just a cost estimate.
You also don’t have a loan offer yet.
Question 1: What amount will the bank actually finance for you and how does the situation look with children then? Repayment reduction?
Question 2: What kind of house do you get for the (so far unknown) amount approved by the bank?
Our problem, unfortunately, is that alternatives are lacking. We need more space in the long term than in our rental apartment, condominiums practically don’t exist, existing houses don’t even come on the market and if they do, at incredible prices, at which one, yes I know, that’s always said like that, but it really is so, could also build new… Reasonable rental apartments are very rare. And that despite living in the countryside and the nearest big city being around 100 km away.
Real estate is currently scarce and expensive everywhere.
But a new build also costs more than you think at the start of planning.
PS: Isn’t the future builder already 33? :D
