If you now add both items, you arrive at our total costs for the painting work in a similarly sized house with a living basement...
For the flooring item, you can also add an item for the installation work.
If plastered walls are supposed to look good, it won’t be cheaper than wallpapering.

But he listed everything in detail in the opening post.
About €800 rent including utilities, plus €1500 savings rate, makes €2300. Financing €1300 plus €400 utilities makes €1700. That leaves €600 to save for other purchases etc.
If there is a child and the income drops to €4100, it will get tight. But from my point of view not impossible. You just have to know that it will initially be a simpler build without frills, with a lot of own work, with only painted walls at first, etc. The walls can also be professionally painted and wallpapered later. You can also lay inexpensive laminate for now (then you don’t need €10,000 in material costs for the floors) and change it in a few years. The two are young, so salary increases are sure to come.
I would also never let a build fail due to lacking capital for the outdoor facilities. There are stones and plants on classifieds, then you just do it piece by piece.

Okay, so according to Adam Riese and Gustav Zwerg, then 18k for painting work? But as a "layman," I find that quite hefty, don't I?

I don’t quite understand the problem. Whether it’s 50 euros for groceries or hobbies makes no difference at all. Unfortunately, I can’t separate it that precisely because we don’t track it in the form of a household budget or anything like that. As I said: In the end, it definitely adds up.

What I will take from you, however, is to recalculate the insurance and incidental house costs. Thank you very much for that :)

That is indeed one way to do it. The alternative would be to live with very simple equipment for 5-10 years, then sell and build anew.
For us, the outdoor facilities were also only basically finished (all retaining walls and the stone terrace) one year after moving in.
However, for the interior fittings it was important to us that everything was completed in good quality at move-in.

Ok, our painter was not only a good craftsman but also a good salesman: He installed beautiful 3D applications on the walls in the kitchen and living room. That was about 5k extra cost, but we still like this design... You too will encounter something in house construction for which you will spend more money than originally planned. Therefore, you should not only plan for ancillary construction costs but also "reserves".
