And the existing property doesn’t have SIGNIFICANTLY higher additional costs than an equivalent rental apartment?!!! I’m about to fall off my chair laughing... that this myth of "owning saves money" is still going around... *shakes head*
Property (whether new or existing) is a luxury and costs almost 100% more than a rental apartment. Someone has to prove the opposite to me first..
Nope. In the rental apartment, I had 158 euros in additional costs. This included garbage, water/sewage, heating, building insurance, street cleaning, chimney sweep, property tax, general electricity.
Consumption electricity was extra, installment 70 euros.
Now in the house I have the following annual costs
Garbage: 224.16 (but all bins just for me!)
Water/sewage: 316
Property tax: 369.63
Building insurance: 285.25
Fire insurance: 132.27
Chimney sweep: 58
Heating about 500 euros for 2 tons of wood briquettes including delivery

158 euros monthly!
Consumption electricity including hot water generation is another 50 euros for 2000 kwh annually. We cover the rest ourselves via photovoltaics on our own roof. Total consumption in recent years: about 3200 kwh including hot water!
