My dad got himself one of those [Pipsgeräte] because the cats always run into his house and mark the furniture and the carpet. Since then, the tigers don’t come anymore. Maybe that could help.

Hello Snowy36

interesting question. But the cat owner is responsible for their animal. So they are also responsible for what the animal does and must ensure that the cat stops it. If a dog poops in your garden, the owner can't just say: "that's just how he is."

Nope. As long as the cat behaves according to its nature, unfortunately, you cannot force a cat owner to prevent the cat from doing so. It's different with a dog because you are not allowed to let it roam like a cat.
You have to accept cat poop in the garden (as long as it stays within reason).
The catch is also that you often don't know which animal is pooping in your garden. The cat of neighbor A or B or even both.

Cat is not dog.
If you treat a cat like a dog, that is animal cruelty.
A dog follows, a cat does not - except when the treat bag rustles.
Unfortunately. Sometimes dogs are easier to handle.

Mine are sometimes gone all day in summer and where they roam everywhere.
Fish pond 2 km away or sports field 3 km away are not distances
for healthy outdoor cats.

Hello,

Exactly. A cat is the private hobby and pleasure of its owner. I certainly have to accept that it sometimes walks through my garden, completely okay, they are also cute to look at and my children always like to watch them.

But I certainly must not and will not accept a massive health risk to my children!

How the owner manages that is nmfp (=Not my f**** Problem). But if he doesn't get the problem under control, he must not complain if others solve the problem in their own way.

The owner can also offer to clean the fully shitted garden every (!) day. Then the problem is also solved. If the owner is too lazy for that, okay, then other measures have to be taken.

Even if many cat owners see it very differently, my children rank several levels higher in the hierarchy than the neighbor’s cat.

But before this turns into a cat hater discussion; it still has to be clarified whether it is a cat, and if so, which one!

Further details see below.

Best regards,

Andreas

Hi,

And this somewhat strange attitude of many cat owners (not referring to Evolith, no idea if you have a cat) leads to such disputes ultimately escalating and the cats being dealt with by air rifles, slingshots, or poison baits... which really shouldn't be necessary.

Of course, an owner is responsible for their animal. If you can't control it, don't let it in front of your door. Or better yet, don't get one at all. If the cat is too difficult for you, just stay away from it.

And before anyone says again: cats can’t be trained. Yes, they can. A cat in the neighborhood is the perfect example. It even sticks to a roaming radius... The owner can tell it while going for a walk, “You wait here now.” And it does!

So it’s possible!

Best regards,
Andreas
