Hello chand

exactly there is the problem: (I have no cat problem, this is only theoretical) why should I spray something on my lawn???
This should be done by the cat owner and thus the person responsible! Or do you have a different opinion?

Because YOU would also be willing to take the much longer, more difficult, more labor-intensive, and more expensive path of the live trap. Since you don’t know the owner, only YOU can do anything anyway. Where is the logic in choosing the most complicated of a few possible solutions?

Unless, of course, you don’t actually want the most effective problem solution but see yourself as having an educational mission toward the owners. Whom, of course, you will only find if you first keep the cat for so long until the owners post search notices.

How much do a live trap and keeping the caught cat cost, in money and time? But with a cheap solution for a few euros and a time investment of seconds, you ask why YOU should bother so much? Seriously?

Yes, and that is exactly the problem with Google "knowledge". Google has nothing to do with established case law. On the contrary: in most federal states, a hunting license is required to use live traps, and there are also some operating obligations. Your legal tips have gone wrong again..

Hello Fuchur

thank you for your lecture.
Although I assume that I am still taking the more moderate approach. I know some who would split the cat’s skull with a spade and that’s that.
So far I have only ever read: you, you, you.
Why shouldn’t the cat owner be held responsible? Why should I buy something? And regularly spray my lawn with it?
Why should I secure the nesting boxes so that the cats don’t kill the birds?
Why should I secure rabbit burrows so that the cat doesn’t tear the rabbits apart?
It’s my garden, it’s my rules!

Then you should urgently raise a flag and secure "your country" against unlawful intrusion of any life forms.

Hello chant

I live here in the countryside. Live traps are very common here. And a cat won't starve that quickly. You can certainly leave it in the trap until the owner reports.
