I'm in favor of a motion-activated sprinkler system. That way there's a shower for the lawn too.

Hello Snowy

why not catch it in a live trap?
After determining where the cat belongs, the owner gets it back. But then he better make sure it doesn't poop in the garden anymore.
The owner is responsible. How he does that is his problem.
I can think of other methods to teach the animal not to poop in the garden.
Cat owners are strange creatures. Their animal causes damage and they say, I can't do anything about it.

Hello kaho The cat owner can arrange and install that at their own expense. That would be an appropriate way to keep the lawn clean from feces. Steven

Sure. I guess it’s not expensive. Such a motion detector is a piece of cake, and a small pump with a sprinkler isn’t a problem either. Just where to put the water barrel?

I am still seriously thinking about a simpler solution: marking the spot with a pile from your own junior, then the kitty might be confused and avoid the spot.

Or you dust off an old light organ from the depths of the hobby cellar and let it trigger the camera. Where it "flashes", it is also uncomfortable.
