Driver's license, okay. But what does the wedding have to do with the parents' money? o_O

Hello everyone,

there is a very lively discussion going on here. Very nice. I would rather not comment further on the topic "whether to accept money from parents or not." As I said, it might not even concern me, and I think two different viewpoints are clashing here :)

Are there actually moderators in this forum? Basically, I think it’s good that so many people participate, but the topics sometimes do get a bit out of hand :p No offense, but I have noticed this several times while reading here. It sometimes really makes the topics confusing for readers looking for information, usually related to the thread title...

I would like to share my calculation file here. I always fiddle a bit with the installment amounts and see what comes out in the end... In my opinion, the values are very close to reality.
Regardless of the question whether all this would be feasible and how much loan volume would be possible, the question is: How do you see it? How do you assess the individual values?
Have I forgotten something or do I completely misjudge something? Of course, there is still potential in there, but in case of doubt, I would rather calculate somewhat conservatively.
Assessment and feedback are gladly welcome.

Addition: The values for the contributions to the municipality are first-hand. They do not need to be questioned. Household with 4 persons and the same plot size.

And before the great outrage about the preliminary runs comes up: For my girlfriend, due to additional public sector provision, this does not play the biggest role, and my employer covers the major part. The 25 € are just an additional payment from me.

Your calculation looks great! With the salaries (which are completely sufficient for this loan), no problem in your CURRENT life phase. I also see a problem when children come. One income decreases significantly (maybe even disappears entirely?) and the child costs money. Of course, you have to factor in this buffer then, or represent it in a new calculation and check whether you can still afford a repayment amount of €1,300 or not.

It would also be important to have a good buffer in the background to fall back on 1-2 years while the wife is at home. Also important would be a variability in the repayment amount—possibly temporarily lowering it to 1% or similar.

Otherwise, as I said, your calculation fits well; I think you have taken a lot into account.

Thank you very much for your feedback. As mentioned, suggestions and criticism are always welcome.

Yes, I have to completely rethink the topic of parental leave. Childfree is an alternative. Before I remain childless, I simply won’t build. A small buffer was created there, which should not be touched - but I need to add something to it.

So my partner's salary will cease, and for 2 years there will only be parental allowance. A one-year parental leave is out of the question, as we would rather not give up our child after just one year. I also think that's unrealistic - I'm experiencing this firsthand with my little godchild right now. After that, however, a 70% part-time position with 29 hours is planned - it will probably be around €1,500 but okay - I'll leave the €1,400 for now. My salary remains at full amount. My new employer offers 100% remote work if needed, so I can spend time with the child before work, we can eat together during breaks, and after work I am also right there on site. Therefore, I will not have to take parental leave - regardless of the fact that we can't afford it either.

Building/household contents is too low. The building will increase significantly in a few years, household contents with bicycle and possibly middle category as basic insurance is rather about double. Inspections for heating were forgotten. Reserves are not an issue yet, but the contribution can be used for the garden and related purchases. I see food/drinks too naively… I can well imagine that the 50€ often spent in the drugstore (not even expensive cosmetics) will be somewhat underestimated. Not only water is drunk either. And always remember: what use is a fancy house if you stuff yourself with cheap food containing antibiotics. I would set at least 500€, increase with a child. Is there a reason why an e-bike was leased?
