Apart from the objections regarding storage space, which I also consider far too limited, another tip for the kitchen: there are now some nice alternatives to an extractor hood mounted above, and I don’t only mean Bora, it can also be cheaper and just as good. If you make the peninsula deeper, you could therefore leave the stove surface there.

Just for your information or question: didn't you write somewhere that they are supposed to be closed? If that's the case, additional costs will definitely come up for you. I don't know if your type of stairs can even be closed... we have risers on half of ours, each cost around 100€...

Anyway: that wasn't your question here, but you should still consider it.

Edit: in #3 you mentioned a closed staircase. Yes, that's good storage space, but as already said: you won't get that easily with the staircase promised to you in the construction service description without a four-figure surcharge. And it can be like that with every detail... that's what @RobinMKK wanted to point out

What you are writing is all correct, criticism is also good, but sometimes things are simply exaggerated here much too much.

That's true, we won't get that back. But we want something of our own. We are practically never on "classic" vacation, but spend the time at home and in the garden, tinker and build a lot, and like to work in the garden bed and on constant improvements. We also keep chickens (no rooster). The annoying thing is that part of our current property is designated as building land and the landlord will build a house there in about 3 years. This will then be 2m higher than the rest of the property and can see EVERYTHING. Also, we currently have a north-facing terrace made of exposed concrete and would like something nicer, or to occasionally make a proper investment here and there (windows, fireplace, shower, ...). But all of that would only be for the landlord, and with the new house the property completely loses its charm. Therefore, better to have our own home. At least then you invest all your time and love into your own four walls. And above all the money (rent is €1100 cold, so you don't make much profit compared to owning a home to say it's worth renting).

But we are looking forward to the ground-level access to the garden (currently only accessible via stairs from the carport!), the garden visible from the house's ground floor (currently only through the toilet window, you can't just put the child in the garden to play), the side-by-side double carport (currently, as I said, only in a row) and the open kitchen. What we will miss are the invisible huge plot, the non-existent neighbors, and (a bit) the peace.

We will definitely go back to the property to measure the required height for the privacy screen, we had planned that anyway.

A bit too heretical — a couch to lounge on and a dining table are definitely desired. The largest room mentioned by us (6.5x4.6m) is our current living room... it's workable, but a bit bigger would be nice. However, there is currently no dining table in it.

That’s my wife’s matter; I don’t want to interfere. Since she doesn’t want the stove there at all (not just because of the extractor hood), that’s okay.
Nice side effect: costs less.

Yes, exactly. However, risers are included in the price (we explicitly asked).

Ah, ok [emoji848][emoji2] not bad!

Which rooms are on the north side of the multi-family house?
