The problem is that my wife has quite specific ideas that she will not be dissuaded from. For example, entrance on the ground floor, i.e. outdoor stairs, gallery above the dining area, large dressing room, straight staircase, direct access from the garage into the house,...

Furthermore, we already had another floor plan from an architect, to which she was emotionally attached. We have now adjusted this slightly and are currently both happy with it.

In the new floor plan, my office has moved to the basement, but the garden has increased in size due to the new position of the garage.

I am looking forward to your feedback

One makes oneself problems with that. Also certain ideas that one has seen as background in soaps, which one absolutely wants to have

I don’t want to contradict that at all. Emotions are naturally involved in building a house, and if certain ideas trigger them, then unfortunately I can’t do anything about it. Happy wife, happy life I will post the floor plan later, the file is unfortunately still too large and I am too stupid to convert it on my phone Regards

My wife, Ilsebill ...

So far, every other princess has had to accept that fine dust flakes off in several places on the way from the Sims house to the design plan.

The tensions from financing that arise from implementing a dream house without compromises also affect the marriage. Unhappy life, unhappy wife.

Serious architects should not break the hearts of their clients by starting the path to an economical design—which in my opinion can and must also fulfill the criteria of a beautiful design—with a dollhouse.

Even without much marble and a view of Lake Zurich, this is currently a design for an almost seven-figure budget, and at 26, a teacher is probably still expecting to become a civil servant for life rather than already being at level A14.

A building plot is not a pony farm.

nicely put! When I first inquired about prices from the trades, I quickly came down to earth – actually, even before that. As I wrote elsewhere, my idea of a dream house is not affordable. That was clear to me anyway. I then also learned that one or another nice extra just isn’t feasible. But with a bit of creativity, you can also achieve things that initially seem impossible. If you’re open to new ideas. I don’t really want to dissect this, you have to figure out yourselves what’s possible and what isn’t. Just a word about the entrance on the ground floor, especially since you’re building in BW, where winters are harsher than elsewhere: such a stupid outdoor staircase has to be cleared and salted. I would rather enter the house through the basement and then walk up inside the house warm and dry without breaking my legs... Otherwise, I’ll wait for the new floor plan.

A princess needs to be thoroughly shaken awake. Fairy tales have very little to do with reality, dreams should not be painted too detailed and true to life, then they become tangible. Well then: we have it easy to say, that doesn't help the OP at all, because she probably also had to say goodbye to the white horse [emoji6]
