We are currently also considering and will probably install wood-look tiles in the living-dining area. On the one hand, it is visually a nice thing. In addition, visitors can keep their shoes on if necessary. And the counterargument that tiles feel cold is countered by the high thermal conductivity in combination with underfloor heating. An alternative and long-time favorite of ours was "Designboden"(vinyl). However, the issue of plasticizers is always somewhat present there, especially when the sun shines intensely on it.

Not only the sun, but also the heating constantly warms the vinyl... And with street shoes, that's simply a main argument, likewise tiles will not discolor or will do so significantly less than wood or laminate due to UV radiation. Put a carpet on the parquet for 5 years...

The problem with falling kitchen utensils is my specialty. I sometimes have serious difficulties holding various objects. Some nerves or reflexes are severely damaged or no longer present.
The vinyl absorbs that without any problems.

The 10 tiles had small cracks and had to be replaced after years. They were always installed by a professional.

this is what our living room looks like with wood-look tiles. 1 week after moving in, still a bit messy

we would definitely do it again.

I like the tiles but I like the tiles on the kitchen wall even more. They are tiles, right?

I'll take a photo of our brown tiles tomorrow - not wood-look, but maybe an alternative for those considering it.
