Yep, we have also had that experience. Negotiating helps now and then. My sister installed wood-look tiles. And I have to say, I really think they look great.

Hello Teyla, which Marazzi tiles are these?

The grout color is not acceptable at all for wood look. It may be acceptable under the heater, but with nice wood look tiles you should choose a grout color as close as possible to the color of the tiles and make the grout as thin as possible! That makes a WORLD of difference in the appearance.

The box only says Marazzi K17S, I don't have a more precise designation. The size is 15x90cm.

The grout color should definitely not be like that in the rest of the house, but unfortunately I don't know much about it and therefore find it hard to imagine which grout color I should choose for a parquet effect. Brown or beige perhaps?

Under the heater we will leave it as it is, it will be installed today and is so large that you can hardly see the grout anyway. I have already contacted the tiler to make sure a different color is used in the rest of the house, but I am still uncertain which one.

Hello Teyla, I just browsed a bit and actually only found what has already been written here. The grout color should be as close as possible to the tile color so that the grout visually recedes into the background. Best regards

We held the tiles against a sample of the grout color during the tile selection and looked at what fits best with the tile. Definitely use a similar color to the tile.

And the grout lines are actually too wide.

I created a cutout from 2 pictures of ours that I have available right now and attached it.

Just get a color fan with the joint colors and simply hold it up to your tiles, then you'll see what fits best. And talk to the tiler to see if he can do narrower joints, even if he might have to use more expensive grout for that.
