what I haven’t really found with a wireless smart home so far is the weather station
where rain, wind, temperature, and brightness are measured

are there any other advantages for F@H?

Advantages of F@H compared to wireless:
wired and can be expanded by wireless (no or fewer wireless problems)
has a weather station

Disadvantages of F@H compared to wireless:
more expensive (I claim with wireless I can equip the house approx. 150 sqm with wireless parts under €10,000)
only one manufacturer (yes, if F@H is discontinued, you can switch to KNX, but the switch is also very expensive)
limited selection of parts
limited selection of compatible partners (with Matter supposed to be “if it works and eventually arrives” also, like with KNX, everything should be compatible with each other)
remote access requires a subscription

do you have any more pros or cons for F@H?

what else would be missing to have a smart home without gimmicks?

F@H only has motion sensors and no presence detectors
the only sensible application area is hallway and staircase, right?

No idea. My electrician is a big BJ fan (not what you think :-P) = Busch-Jäger fan. But all the solutions would cost a lot. And I asked myself if I really need it. Then I simply listed exactly what I want to have and how I can implement it most cheaply. The electrician, quite unexpectedly, also approved that I buy the parts myself. He installs them then. So I have already saved well over €1,000. With this, he moved onto my craftsman list: "Gets a gift" . Appropriately for a Pole, of course, there is a very good Polish vodka :-)

Don’t let anyone talk you into what is supposedly good. The motto KNX or nothing. Look at what you want and can implement cheaply. I will control everything via Alexa (yes, many are screaming now). If Amazon wants to see me naked in the apartment, let them do it :-)

Oh, one thing I forgot. Video doorbell. I will get the new one from Eufy and then integrate it into Alexa as well. So I have everything I need for a total well under €2,000.

Yes, I also find F@H very expensive at €10,000

I tried to find positive features that would speak for F@H
actually found little except that it is wired

I think we will then also rely on a wireless smart home, possibly wait for the new Matter

We will probably also get Alexa (but there are no cameras inside)

Video doorbell: do you know the Doorbird? It is said to be very good and work without problems

I have already read a lot of bad things about the eufy.
Slow response time, latency
if you want to take a Wi-Fi doorbell, then maybe rather take the Ring, it is said to work without problems

Ring is cloud-based (additional subscription costs), which I don't want. And since I also want the outdoor camera surveillance from Eufy, it will be Eufy. I'll report when I'm ready, but it will take a while

For cost and feasibility reasons, we had to forgo wired systems, and now I'm doing everything wireless myself. Choose a manufacturer-independent hub (ioBroker, openHAB, HomeAssistant...), then it doesn’t matter if you wait for Matter or which systems you use. For example, I combine Alexa, eufy, Shelly, HomematicIP, Unifi, Aqara together and am completely flexible when it comes to gadgets.

Doorbird seems Apple-like to me: looks good and works, but in the end, you pay for the design. So far, I couldn’t find a “better” range of functions. I initially wanted to work with the new Unifi Doorbell, but it has been out of stock forever. I just got the new eufy Doorbell and find it good. A response time of 5 seconds is acceptable to me for a video doorbell.. In any case, no Ring, it only costs additional monthly fees, as already mentioned.

I handle it the same way as Neubau2022 regarding shutter and light control, but I skip Alexa and throw in the Metzler vdm10 as a video doorbell. However, it is POE, meaning wired.

I personally don't need more.
