Lots of opinion, little knowledge. You can get the software anytime, the Home version is sufficient for home use. Then you can change anything you want at any time. As an IT specialist, that shouldn't be a problem. However, my experience after many years in the industry says that IT specialists who openly brag about this usually have the least knowledge in the field. It's evident here as well. If you want a DIY system, then one of the many other systems that are not complete islands.

I know Master of IT, they injure themselves on a screwdriver, so a radio system is optimal there.

But in new constructions, something like that belongs networked over a bus.
Also Loxone uses radio and now has many partners whose products support the radio system.
But switches, lights etc. belong on a bus.

It's already enough when a customer gets a new router, then all WLAN devices have to be reconnected.

Of course I get injured on a screwdriver.
Honestly, I don’t have to and don’t want to with my salary. There are others who can handle it much better and make their living from it. Registering devices on the router, that’s true. But that’s a single button on the Homepilot to press briefly, which then recognizes all the other devices. Whether professional or not.
For me, price, setup, and handling as well as performance count.
The roller shutters and blinds can be set in scenes just the same and operate just as desired with Alexa or Google and/or weather station automatically up and down in the sun as with a KNX, lighting and heating control, TV, socket control, door lock and door contacts, camera surveillance, smoke detector, etc.
So no one here has to speak badly about it. Everyone should do whatever they want. I have it and it works. I have given reasons why I chose it. Those who want Loxone, Homeatic, or KNX should gladly take that. In the end, the result is absolutely exactly the same except for manufacturer dependency.
