Which downdraft vent? For a new kitchen? Who can recommend something?

Has anyone already had experience with the Bora X Pure? Probably not, right? At the moment, this is our cooktop in the kitchen planning. Actually, we wanted the Classic, but a) it takes up more space and b) it costs a few euros fifty more...

but that is also the German mentality. Marketing works perfectly in DE. The buzzword is "fashion," the masses orient themselves by that because very few have the ability to estimate how something will look finished or whether they really need and will use the item (e.g., DGC in the kitchen). I have lived in DE for 47 years and witnessed how much pressure from others one is exposed to because people talk about you if you do something differently. Germans are known abroad for being very critical and openly expressing it. One plays it safe when building and planning the house and interior so as not to fall outside the "frame." Except for the already highly priced properties.

I live in Australia, where there is hardly any "fashion" because it cannot be enforced. The cultures are too different. For example, everyone in DE believes that a kitchen without a Dekton countertop is not a kitchen, no matter how small it is, whether “only” Ikea cabinets stand underneath or the mini-apartment is rented out.

I also don’t understand why everyone is so eager to build NOW. Probably because you have to "keep up" with colleagues and friends. There is a lack of qualified personnel, everything is overpriced, you can’t find an architect, and a lot of shoddy work on construction sites. I have witnessed 3 booms and busts already; the last boom here ended in 2014/2015. Whoever bought/built back then now gets up to 20% less for the property. The last bust in DE was from 1998 (Asian financial crisis), and then no one built in DE for a very long time.

A composite material. It's the brand name of a manufacturer. It's an almost indestructible countertop. Costs accordingly as well.

We also planned the kitchen very thoroughly - Dekton was not an issue. So there is no question of "everyone believes". We are also not building because of peer pressure - but because it is now financially manageable, we need space, and we are tired of an apartment with neighbors above, below, right, and left. In conclusion: no one can say today how the real estate market will develop in the future and when the "right" time to buy is. In 2030, one can look back and judge how good or bad the decision to build in 2020 was.

Ideally with a cold beer in hand in one's nicely grown garden.
