Anyone have experience with downdraft instead of [Muldenlüfter] in the cooktop? We can't get used to having something in the cooktop =/

Our kitchen planner advised us against all variants on or in the cooktop – but we also didn’t want anything right in front of our noses. So it became the Novy Cloud, a ceiling extractor. From September I can report more precisely how good the idea was.

For what reason?

From your experience, none of the systems is strong enough to permanently prevent grease deposits on the ceiling. With taller pots, the effect is limited. The exhaust air has to go somewhere, so depending on the system, there is a draft around the feet or concentrated in one spot. Depending on the system, the space in the drawers is reduced. The ceiling extractor has more power due to its design.

I think that's it. How well the Novy works, I can report in 2 months as mentioned. Until then, it is all gray theory...

So I'm not really satisfied with my Miele but if it can do one thing: then "suck up" the grease .... what it doesn't do well: prevent odors ... and personally I just have too little cooktop left ...

Can you give a few examples of where there is too little space left? We are still leaning towards the Bora, and two large pans and two small pots fit on it. Apart from maybe a thick roast at Christmas, that is easy enough. I still somehow have reservations about it...
