What would you do differently in the next house construction?

Do not isolate. Some houses are surrounded by high privacy fences so that burglars can really work in peace.

The window handles are also available with locks. Costs extra. I wouldn't take it, you just lose the keys.... and anyone who wants to get in will get in anyway. Karsten

Wonderful, our reaction was similar. We were also recommended that, answer was: Whoever wants to get in has to get past a 50 kg dog.

For the gangs looking for a quick break-in, our only neighbors without a fence and dog are more interesting, and for real pros, we poor fools are not interesting anyway ^^

There is no fence or dog either. Still, sleep well. What really works here is a watchful eye. If a gypsy couple strolls through the village, or a car with dark guys drives through the settlement, someone immediately calls the station, and they come to check, which scares off the birds. Fortunately, very little happens here because we care about each other. K.

When it comes to burglary protection, it's about extending the time it takes to get in. Without protection, a screwdriver and ten seconds are enough. Anyone can do that after an hour of YouTube.

And they must be kept out through the windows. And that works. And is sensible.

On the subject: although it's a renovation of an old building, there is no internet in the extra conservatory. Annoying at a party without a connection for music.

You can open any window if you want to, especially the professionals. And when it’s opened, the system goes off. So simple protection is enough, right?

I always thought:
Better standard windows and alarm

Instead of no alarm and the most secure windows.

The police advisory office rather recommended mechanical protection, i.e. preferably certified RC2. What these windows can withstand can be seen in videos, for example on YouTube. When it gets that difficult, burglars prefer to go to the neighbor. You can then dispense with the alarm system. After all, they are already inside and maybe a neighbor looks after it (putting themselves in danger) or the police are informed and present on site, they are already gone. Also, a notification to the mobile phone, possibly with a photo, is then of little help, since you can’t do much from the office (call the police, go there). Perpetrators are probably masked, so a photo hardly helps either.
