Anyone who is generous with empty conduits can easily retrofit and doesn't have to install comfort just on speculation from the very beginning.

Then save the whole thing a little more. If there is a network connection on every floor, then hang an access point on every floor. This should at least distribute WLAN well throughout the entire house. It should definitely be better than a repeater. If you still need the LAN connection for the TV, you can put a switch in between to have TV and access point connected to the network at the same time.

Otherwise, unfortunately your house is stuck in the 2000s. If you don’t want elaborate network cabling for cost reasons, you should at least put a central access point on every floor.

Then my house probably also stayed standing, despite my profession. We have a Fritzbox, a PoE switch, and a NAS in the basement. On the ground floor, we have a UAP‑AC‑HD from ubiquiti and zero problems, great throughput. The iPad doesn't need more....

Between the features "two Ethernet ports throughout the entire house" and "four in the 11 sqm children's room" there is still something in between.

Then much is done when creating a star cabling and/or bus cabling through existing empty conduits. That is probably the driest theory.
