What would you do differently in the next house construction?

I would also be interested in why prefer gas?

We are currently in the planning phase and have an air heat pump planned at the moment. I would have actually only chosen gas for one reason: gas stove.

But now we are completely giving up on a gas connection. Good idea?

If the [Energieeinsparverordnung] is just barely met, I would also heat with gas. [Energieeinsparverordnung] and heating must be compatible, otherwise it will be expensive or even cold.

I would probably build according to the [Energieeinsparverordnung] and specifically improve the insulation, preferably as a DIY project. However, you can also heat with a [Luft-Wasser-Wärmepumpe] under the [Energieeinsparverordnung] without going bankrupt. It's very individual.

With a [Luft-Wasser-Wärmepumpe], I would also omit the gas connection. Why bear the costs? And it also incurs a basic fee even if it is only used for the stove. I would use induction there.

I’m not so sure that much is gained with better insulation. I think I once read somewhere that the first 4cm make the main contribution to insulation, each additional centimeter only improves it by a small percentage. Therefore, I have my doubts whether the financial extra effort for insulation pays off. I am also considering the Energy Saving Ordinance 2016 with an air-water heat pump. Photovoltaics will be installed on the roof once there are reasonable storage technologies so that most of the electricity for the air-water heat pump can be generated by ourselves - that’s the hope. Furthermore, winters are rather getting warmer than colder, meaning that the use of the heating element will tend to be less rather than more... of course, this only works if the electricity price remains fairly constant...

I am currently working on the insulation calculation in a post here. If I only followed the energy saving ordinance, 12cm would be enough with my brine pump and [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung]. Let's see if I do it that way...

Therefore, doing it yourself. For example, the insulation of the top floor ceiling can be done very well on your own, and as is well known, heat rises.
Likewise, the insulation under the screed. No witchcraft and probably every builder does it more precisely than the contract workers...
Here you can install better insulation that you have procured yourself. Due to the usually installed underfloor heating, this is also not marginal.
