Burglary thefts are often the work of foreign gangs, who you don't meet in the local gym. This is widely known.

A typical Karsten once again. Or was it just an unfunny joke?

We will use RC2 safety glass throughout the entire house, including the ground floor and the upper floor, as well as locking handles with drill protection. Theoretically, RC2N on the ground floor and RC1 on the upper floor would have been sufficient for me, without locking handles with drill protection and without safety glass. However, the window manufacturer gave us this as a free gimmick, so we didn’t say no .

I didn't fool myself, it will certainly only be secure at RC4/RC5.
RC1/2/3 can simply have the glass broken.
In my opinion, burglars with violent intent will not be stopped by RC3.

The other, more cautious thieves who start to pry open windows are less dangerous and usually come during the day.

This is just my opinion on the matter; if you want to sleep peacefully and have secure windows, they must also withstand a hatchet or something similar, and not only be secure against prying.

Hi,

When I read something like this:

I always have two questions:
1: What kind of areas do you live in? Pretoria; Bronx, suburb of Rio???
2: What kind of valuables do you have at home that you expect burglars who otherwise break into jewelers and bank vaults? That’s more like the RC4/RC5 league.

I have to make life so hard for the average, everyday burglar that he has no desire anymore and prefers to go to the neighbor. Nothing more!

Burglars who also overcome RC3 windows have a plan and know that there is something to get. They don’t do that to steal an old TV.

Anyone with such a security need should maybe also consider fixed glazing. Then you just need controlled residential ventilation and AC.

Best regards,

Andreas
