What would you do differently in the next house construction?

Empty conduits are very useful, especially for flexibility in network topology. By the way, a good empty conduit is called that because it is empty. Even though some people also use the term for such conduits that are occupied from the beginning and into which it is difficult to pull anything afterward. Next to every planned empty conduit, another truly empty one should be laid; otherwise, the purpose was not understood. An empty conduit used only to spare the cable sheath from "skin contact" with the plaster is foolishness.

Great idea this thread!

Just a question.

I’m not at the windows yet, but I thought the standard protection would be enough because I’m getting an alarm system anyway.

Is that wrong thinking?
You can open any window anyway if you want, especially the pros. And if it opens, the alarm goes off. So simple protection should be enough, right?

I always thought:
Better standard windows and alarm

Instead of no alarm and the most secure windows.

But also plan pulling boxes for the conduit.

Assuming you are known to be very wealthy. The Picasso in your guest bathroom is just as real as the Kandinsky in the bedroom with the safe opening to 1234 behind which is your watch collection. Then you belong to the chosen few where instead of some junkies, actual professionals break in. Unfortunately, you live in Hintertupfing, and the patrol car is already in front of your door 38 minutes after the alarm when the roads are snow-free. How much fear do you think the professionals have that one of your neighbors will upload their stolen license plate on Facebook? - Go back to "Start", do not collect four thousand marks.

And if I don't have any Kandinskys, except as poster prints, if the lady has neither China vases nor diamond bling, if the TV is 10 years old and the furniture is from Elch, then you don't need either RC or anything like windows or alarms, the carpenter who accompanied us during the inspection of the house said it quite aptly: The window handles also come with locks. Costs extra. I wouldn't take it, you just lose the keys.... and whoever wants to get in will get in anyway. Karsten
