Hi Andreas. Your concerns are certainly not unfounded. Basically, I also find the system from Gira very good, but quite expensive. I am looking for an intercom system with a camera function. I would like to have two screens in the house. One for each floor. We probably want to integrate the fingerprint scanner directly into the door or the door handle. Therefore, this function does not need to be controlled via the system from Gira or whoever. Why did you choose Gira or were there no alternatives for you despite the price? Regards

Which system did you install, Uwe? And what are the advantages of your system? Really difficult to find the right solution without throwing money out the window, or saving in the wrong place...

Hi Andre,

Gira because our electrician has a lot of experience with it. We are now paying about 800 € for a Gira intercom system with fingerprint module. Without the fingerprint, we would have come in under 400.
We completely omitted the camera and monitor.

With all the "new" providers, it's nice that they offer certain functionalities for less money, but will I still get spare parts in a few years?

You can also easily realize a camera via (W)LAN and a NAS (which presumably everyone has anyway). There are no security problems there either.

There will always be someone who is theoretically able to hack my LAN/WLAN. Then they should not also be able to open the front door with just the push of a button.

The average burglar won't do that; they prefer to pry open a window.

Many greetings,

Andreas

I have the IP Helios Verso from 2N. The advantage was the easy integration with the FritzBox, mobile phone (via WLAN), and into the home automation. With the home automation app, I can answer the doorbell, see the visitor, talk to them, and also open the door. Additionally, the device offers many other functions. For example, we installed the KeyPad, through which I can enter timed codes (e.g., for cat care during vacation periods). It also offers web services through which I can integrate any other systems.

We have now purchased one from Anthell Electronics with video and fingerprint.
I'm curious to see what this thing can do once it is installed.

Hi Bortel. Report back when the time comes. On the one hand, I also tend to Gira or Busch and Jäger because you can always get spare parts for these devices, on the other hand, they of course charge well for it...
