Video door intercom system - Which one is recommended?

Hello everyone, here is a small experience report on a Balter EVO-Accesspoint video door intercom system for participants.

I bought a video door intercom system from Balter for our single-family house, including a Wifi Home Monitor and RFID chip, and have been using it for 3 months now. The camera resolution and angle are excellent, and the display on the monitor and in the app is also very clear to see. The audio quality is also very impressive. In general, the use of the monitor and the app is very practical and supports the use of the door intercom system in a pleasant way. The installation was extremely easy, and opening the door is really simple thanks to the chip. Opening the door from the monitor is also extremely practical if, for example, you are busy in the kitchen. Photos and videos can be saved very easily. The app is also excellent, especially if you are not at home, it is really recommended to use the app to keep track of all kinds of activities. I can therefore only recommend this door intercom system. I myself got it from SatKing.

Hello Dirk, I am also facing the decision of which video door intercom system to choose. Did you install the system yourself, or did the electrician offer to do it? Could you please specify the exact model you have, and also which monitor exactly? I really like the design. If I understand correctly at first glance, do they all operate over a 2-wire line? With the stations that have "IP" in the name, do you also have the option to integrate them into the network? Last but not least: May I ask how much you paid?

- Intercom and mailbox in one

I feel a bit overwhelmed by all the options. We like the integrated models from Zülpicher Edelstahldesign (e.g. surface-mounted B3) best because we could also order them in the color tone of the front door (gray-blue). However, the audio version already costs over 1000€, and the video version 1500€.

Is there anything similar maybe cheaper? Our electrician otherwise recommends Balter, but audio only is quite limited there. Connection can be either IP or 2-wire.

I have installed a Metzler VDM10 2.0 (in the IP version with RFID reader) and have 2 WIFI indoor stations. The whole system is available in different versions (also with 2-wire technology). It is also integrated into the mailbox.

I am in pretty much the same situation. The external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) is now supposed to be installed outside, and we have to decide where on the house the outdoor lighting and doorbell system should go. I’m also overwhelmed by the possibilities. Inside the house, we want 2 stations as well, preferably each with video. But I really don’t feel like spending several thousand euros on this either...

Therefore, I’m also interested in further experience reports. I will now take a look at the Metzler VDM10 2.0.

I paid 599 euros for the outdoor unit (LAN/IP version including RFID), and 199 euros more for each indoor unit. However, I am doing the configuration and installation myself. The plasterers installed the outdoor housing for me, and the electrician laid a LAN cable.
