Hi,

I don't really understand the "fear"!

We will handle it "analog":

Next to the front door there will be a strip of windows and the front door will get a "Sperrbügel".
You can see who is standing in front of the door. With the Sperrriegel you don't have to open the door right away, but first just a small gap.

Best regards, Barossi

Video surveillance on one's own property is relatively unproblematic. Google directly lists the necessary requirements, if needed.
There is only an issue if public paths are recorded or if a neighbor has to fear that their property might be filmed. And even that can be allowed if the need of the system operator is assessed as higher.
If a conflict is anticipated, it's best to proactively approach the neighbors and explain the camera, perhaps show the recording image, etc., and put a sign at the front gate.

The camera always needs a cable. Either a power cable + Wi-Fi (not ideal), or directly a network cable with PoE at the switch or via injector, saving the power cable. An outdoor socket at a suitable location would be useful.
This makes the image available on the network. The rest is just software. Whether it's then an iPad app or something else is no longer interesting.
Or a doorbell system where everything is integrated. But then the wallet has to suffer.

I will probably get the VDV610 + VDV507. Everything else is just too expensive and "over the top" for my simple applications.

I also had that here and sent it back without connecting. I find the quality of the housing appalling. We will soon install a 2N IP Verso.

oh, I have seen several pictures now and it looked quite good. The 2N IP Verso is relatively expensive at just under €1000, in my opinion.

Hello,
I was also faced with this search, but I wanted to have a keyless entry as well. It really got sparse there...

I also saw the DoorBird, the problem with that thing is that the IP traffic does not stay local in your home network but everything runs through Doorbird’s servers. In other words, if someone hacks their servers (and yes, they can be hacked, like any others!!) someone can open all front doors in the world that are connected to a DoorBird with the push of a button. That is a total no-go and completely out of the question!

Best regards,

Andreas
