What is supposed to happen with the 2x 110 sqm of the existing residential building? And why do you want to go through the renovation when you already have plenty of space?

The conversion has already been approved by the building authority and also by the ELR grant program, all based on the calculations of the energy consultant. Why should the structural support not handle a new floor slab? All load-bearing walls rest on foundations, and the supporting pillars also have their own foundation. The old floor slab will be separated on the inside at the exterior walls and must also be removed because of nitric acid. And yes, the ceiling must of course be insulated; the energy consultant also requires 240 mm of insulation. Whether we convert the barn or build a new house is a difference of 50,000 in grants, which we do not get with the NEW house... and that is significant.

The foundation, which is specially designed for the supports. 1.40 by 1.40 and 1 meter deep.

We have submitted a building application and also received the red dot. But that is all still with the original planning including elaborate fire protection, which we do not want to put up with. We wanted to move away from this plan and this is how the plan we posted here came about, but we are not satisfied with it.

Well, our upper floor with 110m2 and no basement and nothing else is really too small.... and a parent still lives on the lower floor, so it is not usable for us. The house is supposed to be rented out later when the parent... well, you know..... or the children live in the house

In my opinion, that is miscalculated: 50 grand sounds like a lot of money. But first, they quickly dissipate in complications (i.e. I would consider it naive to include them in the budget), and second, they roughly correspond to the price for the square meters above the requirement. I stick to the assessment that for a net no more money (if not even less) there would also be a nice little house with a bedroom not on the windbreak. Was that one that included the upper floor?
