You don't need bright sunshine to watch TV, and not for eating either. Mh how does it look with the children's room and small children's bathroom upstairs under the roof? I think without a budget and a good architect you can build an incredibly good house. But who has that already? Demolition and new construction isn't possible, right?

A children's room and bathroom upstairs would be great... but fire protection does not allow it. Demolition or new construction is rather not planned... um... costs...

Show some pictures of the building - preferably (also) ones where you can see each of the three windowed sides as a whole.

Please don’t let the information be dragged out of you like that! The plan being oriented north is probably not correct...? That some rooms cannot be placed somewhere for fire protection reasons (why exactly?) only comes up very late in the question of whether locations can be randomly assigned. A site plan of the property would also be good, especially if more than the building at the bottom of the plan needs to be considered (I assume this because of the note on fire protection). Oh yes, out of interest: what happens to the rest of the stable above your head? And in case I missed it: is it stated anywhere how high the living space is? Old stables are often relatively low compared to the floor area and therefore oppressive...

To convert the stable into living space, you invest a lot of money. What happens to the old roof?
You also need to insulate the ceiling.
Is it possible as is to convert a floor into living space and the upper floors do not meet fire protection standards?

As a layperson, I could imagine that demolition and rebuilding might not be much more expensive.
It's not like there is a finished shell standing. You need windows, doors, possibly support beams, ceiling insulation, walls, interior walls, maintenance of the rest of the building, and the interior finishing yourself. You have a lot of space that is partly difficult to use. That results in the convoluted huge unusable bathrooms or a guest toilet only suitable for athletic people.
