Stairs - Are the stair dimensions 2.00x2.00m okay?

..the applicable standard is DIN EN 18065, which represents the minimum requirements for a walkable staircase.

I design stairs with TrepCAD, where the applicable standards are included in the program, and especially for spiral staircases, the cutting dimension rules and the optimal intersection of the steps are ensured.

There are several different approaches to the intersection of the steps.

The railing or parapet height deviates from the standard and is usually set at a height of 1000mm.

Oops, yes, I just overlooked that. Yes, the one in the first post makes an exemplary impression on me, and the staircase didn’t bother me in it either. And it is walkable – just somewhat row-house-like. But that was also noted there for other details of the design, which I still like. However, there I rather see the study becoming a bit "shorter," and the children's rooms remaining untouched (?), if the staircase were slightly enlarged (which is not necessary).

The step size rule with 63 cm or 65 cm basically has nothing to do with the steepness of the stairs, but only with the ratio of the step height to the tread length. This rule deals with how much a step shortens when stepping onto a higher point.

You are of course right. It is the study that will actually become the children's room.

I now also understand what you mean by the townhouse-like layout after seeing the pictures of HansHaus and his separate hallway. It does make a different impression, that’s true. But maybe mine will be more loft-like.

We still really like the floor plan and next week the architect will come with the offer for the extended shell construction. We’re excited....

Basically correct, however, with a step measurement of 63 cm instead of 64.3 cm here, the step with then 18.35 cm would of course also be less steep (and with 16 steps x 17.81 / 27.38 even more so). In the rollator phase of life, one appreciates that ...

I want to revive my thread and ask if we can realize such a staircase with the conditions from the first post? I currently have no idea if I will bump my head when going down to the basement or if 1m width is enough? At least in the photo, it doesn’t look wider, and we really like it!
