That was my very first thought. I consider this statement not generally valid. See, tastes are simply different. see above – the statement sounds somewhat arrogant. The bay window is not pointless if it fulfills a personal dream or taste. I wouldn’t build it either, but I am no benchmark for other builders. Everyone lives differently. Only one person needs to work shifts or have a special love for midday naps with a view, and suddenly the room is just right. This shows how important it is to describe how you want to live, what dreams and preferences you have instead of focusing directly on the "what." A good architect (m/f/d) can work with that and design a suitable building from it. Talk to the architect and describe your desired lifestyle, what you like to do, your habits, what you don’t like... Show pictures of things, furniture, houses, materials, details – knowing that not everything can be accommodated. Let the architect get to know you and then give her free rein with a design – if she catches fire for it. What comes out will probably far exceed your expectations. That naturally also includes the requirement that a lot of own work should be involved in the implementation. If you want to "play" with different styles, it’s extremely important to think about proportion, dosage, and material mix. Putting a Southern U.S. veranda on an otherwise Scandinavian-style house can be fantastic or a flop. If that is the wish, it is probably a good idea not to add many other shapes and accents like, for example, a checkered dormer window. In the garage stands a BMW E30, which is considered rather narrow today. Other furnishings are also drawn unusually delicate, such as the chairs at the dining and desk table. This results in a distorted picture.

My Audi A4 Avant is 4.8m long, the garage has an interior length in the car area of 6.5m. If I subtract about 50-60cm for cabinets, I have 6m for the car, so there would be 1.2m of space behind the car. I actually thought that would be enough.

If the bay window wasn't there, it would probably be too tight in the bedroom. The thing with the grid window is true, I have to ignore that.
The architect's exterior views also don't fit properly. The windows should not have so many panes. The windows in the hobby room and the adjoining children's room will not be floor-to-ceiling.

....but then with the car in front you would close the cupboard door- .....of course the garage is big enough, and it wouldn’t matter there if you had to turn and twist. In the living area, I would find that uncomfortable. I think this is exactly where the problem lies, that you are basically chasing individual problems and plugging one hole by opening a new one. This is often the problem with a subsequent alteration of an existing, functioning floor plan. The bay window (ok, I will use this word once again) arises because you want to create space for the bedroom. The bay window, in turn, causes consequences elsewhere, not least on the facade, roof, etc. Therefore, I would take the comments especially of to heart and try to free myself completely from previous forms and be open to something completely new. So far, it seems more like a desperate tinkering with something. Or have this exact design built by this company if you like it, but also with these precisely calculated materials.

Do you use this terrace? Sure, you often see it on TV, sometimes with a swing underneath. But many just want their garden to be private. Would the appearance be worth the money to you? The look can definitely be achieved, following the example house. Veranda, windows, color, wood. For riding gear, I would treat myself to a separate room. For laundry, maybe upstairs on the sleeping level. I'm just going to refer to the large design now. Kitchen to the terrace. In summer, the terrace is living space. Eating, grilling, drinking. With children, you feel like you’re outside almost all year round for the first few years. Short distances are not only practical, they also avoid sand dunes. Bay window, if at all, rectangular. Cloakroom is missing. For 2 it may be enough, for 4 no. Upstairs bedroom out of the bay window and give it a cooler side. The bedroom is just impractical due to the position of the bed and the many glass elements. Huge, no closet. A more functional shape, without a bay window, would even save space. I would reconsider whether the bedroom really needs to be there.

I would probably leave riding gear in the garage. The smells don't bother there and in terms of weather, it's no different than the stable.

I was referring to the style of the Eksjöhus Rosenhill. A house like that on such a great large property feels like a permanent vacation If I ever had a vacation home, that would be exactly mine. I myself live - as the name suggests - in a cube-like flat-roofed house. So quite different
