So honestly: at first glance at the views I thought: OhhhGod! Someone has money, but unfortunately taste cannot be bought.
Nothing really fits together and then I read something about "modern, but just a wooden house." huh? That complex thing is supposed to be modern? Everything but that!
I think you have a very nice architect who wanted to accommodate all your wishes and ideas and ended up creating a truly monstrous thing. She should have rather added a bit of her own signature and given the client a little introduction to stylistics.
The windows: I actually find such small-pane windows quite pretty (but by the way anything but modern!), but I would always consider who is supposed to clean them. Honestly: before I have to use the lower office as a bedroom, I will have moved out because after the fifth time cleaning windows I would have gone crazy. Or is window cleaning a fetish for one of you? It happens. Then you chose right! Otherwise, stay away from such small-pane windows - that’s pure window-cleaning horror! At least realize what you are getting into.
Much has already been said about the interior layout, which I can only agree with. Why once again the best side of the house for the parents’ bedroom and the kids in the back? I never see the appeal in that. When are you in the bedroom? To sleep, you go in, lie down, and in the morning you leave again. Does it have to be the nicest room? Even without kids I wouldn’t use such a room for sleeping.
oh yes, if you want to see modern wooden construction, Vorarlberg is a good area, we have seen a lot of impressive and inspiring things there. I also always warmly recommend the “dream houses” from the BR media library to anyone who is still searching. Great examples of architecture and good ideas for quite tricky initial situations, for instance. Let yourself be inspired. The plot is huge but not ideally shaped. But you can do something great there! Unfortunately, to me it looks like a model house was put on the plot that simply doesn’t fit it.
A pity, it can be done much better.
Maybe away from the “standard shell” for a house. I could very well imagine very intricate living areas here, possibly around a kind of courtyard or patio.
But that would be very far from this mix of every architectural style I know sprinkled with the Bauhaus garage.
