It doesn’t change anything, but the shower would be way too dark for me. And honestly, I really don’t understand how anyone can rant so much against the T and then think the (in my eyes) nonsense with the sink in that spot is great. To mount a mirror, the wall has to go all the way up to the ceiling, which swallows a lot of light. Also, I don’t find this stubby little wall proportionate at all. I also don’t get the “long” path from the toilet to the shower. In a room that’s 4m wide, bringing in the length of the path strikes me as amusing. Aside from the fact that 4m is a few steps, how often do you walk that long path??? In kitchens, people cover much longer distances and no one cares about walking around (half) islands.
I like it bright, and especially with the T with the tub in front of the T, the advantage is that the T-wall is only about 1.20m high and acts as a privacy wall for the toilet, i.e. it’s open and airy above, letting the light from the window into the room. On the shower side of the T you can put a nice glass element. Again, lots of light in the shower. Also, you don’t perceive the 40-60cm height of the tub as confining in terms of spatial feeling—if at all. The room feels bigger than with the current solution with the bricked-up shower and the L-shaped toilet solution. The window at the top of the plan also makes the room nice and bright. A washbasin in the top right would be great. You can sit on the tub edge while brushing your teeth and look out the window. For shaving or makeup, you’re not going to use the daylight anyway, which comes from the side but is still closer to the washbasin than it is now. Instead, the (cold) mirror lighting will take over...
I find the ranting against the T solution really silly. You don’t have to like it, okay, but bringing up as THE killer argument that the solution is used so often somehow reminds me of the pseudo-coolness of people who proudly wear unknown brands because no one knows them but suddenly find the same clothes and people awful once a certain mass discovers them. Example: Naketano—used to be a total niche product and cool, then suddenly at P&C, Karstadt, Breuninger and instantly it’s nothing anymore and those who wear it are total mainstream... analogous to the T solution. That’s at least my perception...
: what’s important is that you like it and it seems you do. So all good. My impression is only that the initial idea wasn’t worse and you were on a good path. Either way, enjoy your bathroom.
