Actually a pretty good topic. I can somewhat understand Hotzenplotz, the surcharges are really cheeky sometimes. Nevertheless, it will probably come from a single source for me, since HLB was tendered as one trade. How do the other individual trade contractors handle it here? Heating, ventilation, and sanitation including porcelain from a single source or do you separate somewhere? Ventilation could probably still be taken out well, since the interface is quite clear...

Everything from a single source including ventilation. That is at least the intention, the contract award is not yet final. This significantly saves on coordination, agreement on who may operate where in the building services room and where which lines could be in the way... No price disadvantage visible so far. But of course, it could also be different.

We also contract heating/plumbing and ventilation to a company, this is called TGA (technical building equipment), they would even offer electrical work additionally. But we have contracted that separately.

Heating/ventilation/plumbing from a single source, plumbing only the rough installation, the rest came from us. The service limit here was the angle valve at the washbasin, the stopper for showers and basin mixers (all as surface-mounted fittings). The bathtub was installed by the fitter, as were the concealed flush tanks. We saved around €6,000, although we have not fully taken advantage of it yet.

That's because of online shipping. I don't see why I should pay partly double the money just because it doesn't come through an online shop but through the three-tier mafia-like plumbing distribution network, which in my view is completely outdated.

That's a strong argument. It would have been worth €3,000 to €5,000 to me as well. But not €10,000 or more!

Our TGA also accepts online orders and charges for the installation hours, so that is also possible. However, he does not take responsibility for the objects that do not come from him.
